"The 2007 has terrific black currant fruit, licorice, incense, and subtle smoke, an opulent, even voluptuous mouthfeel, dazzling purity and texture, and a skyscraper-like mouthfeel. This is a sensational Opus One, with sweet tannin and impressive precision and depth. It can be drunk now or cellared for 25+ years". 95 points. Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate.

Solaia 2006/2007, P. Antinori, Tuscany
"The 2007 Solaia saturates the palate with a heady array of super-ripe black cherries, plums, cassis, mocha and sweet French oak. There is an exotic quality to the Solaia I find totally irresistible. Despite its considerable ripeness and opulence, the 2007 Solaia is never heavy, rather it impresses for its extraordinary finesse and balance. Minerals, graphite and crushed rocks frame a long, seductive finish. This is a wonderful Solaia loaded with vintage and vineyard character". 97 points. Antonio Galloni, The Wine Advocate.
Château Talbot 1996, St-Julien
“The wine is close to being outstanding, exhibiting a saturated dark ruby color, and excellent aromatics, consisting of black fruits intermixed with licorice, dried herbs, and roasted meat smells. It is full, with impressive extract, a fleshy texture, low acidity, excellent purity, and a long, deep, chewy finish. This 1996 will be drinkable at a young age, yet keep for 15-20 years. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2017.” 89 points. Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
Château Pontet-Canet 2000, Pauillac, 5ème Cru Classé
Showing delicious creme de cassis, smoke and vanilla oak flavours, this is a wine that is built for the long haul. Rich, full-bodied and powerfully tannic on the palate, this wine could be drunk now, but will continue to improve for another 20 – 25 years.
Château Figeac 1999, St-Emilion
“Complex aromas of figs, ripe plums, sweet cedar, tobacco, and new wood jump from the glass of this Burgundian-like St.-Emilion. It is medium-bodied, lush, and elegant, rather than powerful…although it will not make old bones, it will offer graceful, well-balanced drinking over the next 12 years.” Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, 89 points
Château Potensac 1995, Médoc
"Elegant, complex, and evolved, the saturated dark ruby-colored 1995 exhibits herb-tinged, black currant, cassis-like flavors that are supple, round, generous, and appealing. It is a delicious, reasonably priced claret that should have broad crowd appeal." Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
Houghton Sauvignon Semillon 2007/2008, Western Australia
A classic Bordeaux blend, made in a more modern, up-front style. Vinified without oak, the wine is cold fermented and clarified, and is bottled immediately after fermentation is complete, without any ageing to dampen the zesty primary fruit character. The nose displays citrus and tropical characteristics with a delicate herbaceousness reminiscent of fresh hay. The palate is vibrant with citrus flavours accompanied by gooseberry and passion fruit.
Houghton Cabernet Shiraz Merlot 2007/2008, Western Australia
This is a something of a classic blend which has become synonymous with Australian red wine, made by the most well-known, and most frequently awarded winery in Western Australia. Youthful aromas of redcurrant, raspberry and plum are accentuated by subtle hints of cinnamon, liquorice and vanilla. On the palate there are redcurrant and blueberry flavours and spicy pepper notes.
Woodbridge Shiraz 2007/2008, Robert Mondavi
A blend of 76% Shiraz with a total of eight other varieties, primarily Tannat, Petite Sirah and Malbec, for depth of colour and flavour complexity. The 2007 vintage in Lodi was acknowledged as one of the best in recent history, with a long, cool, dry ripening season. Juicy, ripe huckleberry and blackberry notes fill the expansive aromas and velvety flavours, and then linger on the finish. Hints of violet and tobacco leaf add interest to the bold fruit character.
Woodbridge Sauvignon Blanc 2008, Robert Mondavi
The Woodbridge Winery is located in the Lodi American Viticultural Area, where the Sauvignon Blanc grapes, which make up 89% of the blend, are grown. The balance is of other varieties grown elsewhere, to give roundness to the final wine. Hints of fresh cut grass and tart citrus on the nose, accented by tropical fruit aromas. On the palate, the wine yields slightly more complex citrus notes that include pink grapefruit and lime zest.
